microhardness
(rus. микротвердость)
—
hardness of certain regions of material's microstructure.
Description
Microhardness is defined by indentation of an indenter with a force less than 2 N (in case of larger values, the resulting materials' characteristics are considered macroscale) and penetration by the indenter of at least 200 nm (the lesser degree of penetration is used to test nanohardness).
