creep indentation (rus. индентирование при ползучести) — studying creep characteristics of a material using the indentation method.

Description

Studying the material creep using the indentation method usually requires the equipment to be capable of varying the rate at which indenter load increases. As a result, the material showing creep properties will produce different curves for the dependence of indenter displacement on the load at different load increase rates. Analysis of these curves enables the determination of the rheological properties of the material. Building an accurate model of indentation creep is a complex problem that requires all factors to be considered, and has not been completely solved yet.
