dispersion-stregnthened materials

composites demonstrating a significant increase in strength as compared to that of the matrix material due to the presence of optimally distributed impurity phases or specially introduced particles.
Description
Dispersion-stregnthened materials are materials, whose plastic resistance is determined by the inhibition of dislocations at obstacles usually having the form of nanoparticles. Such structures can be obtained using various methods, such as the isolation of nanoparticles from a supersaturated solid solution (disersion-hardening alloys), methods of powder metallurgy, including mechanical, alloying methods of internal oxidation and nitriding, etc. Materials for the particles are selected from some of the most stable compounds – oxides, carbides or nitrides.
