nano-object otherwise nano scale object (rus. нанообъект) — a discrete part of matter or, alternatively, a local absence thereof (voids, pores), that has at least one of its dimensions in the nanoscale (usually 1–100 nm).

Description

Nano-objects include both objects that have distinct spatial boundaries and can be directly observed using electron and scanning probe microscopy techniques (nanoparticles, nanoplates, nanotubes, nanopores), and other nanoscale objects whose size can often be identified using indirect methods (aggregates, liposomes, membranes, nanodrops, etc.).
